Frustrated

I am so annoyed with blogging right now.  I really do have have a lot of catching up to do. I'm usually so good about blogging about things right as they happen.  I hate the feeling of being behind on things.  I refuse to blog about our trips, birthdays, soccer and every other event in our lives with out pictures!  I hate reading blogs that don't have pictures.

Excuses that have kept me from blogging.....
  • I've been studying.  I'm finally done with all of my dumb anatomy classes.  Yay!  I start clinic this Friday.  I am so excited!  I got all of my instruments last Friday.  It was seriously like Christmas...but much more expensive than Christmas...
  • Computer problems...our laptop has had all of these issues lately.  We paid for it to get fixed and now my SD card reader is not working, and I don't know how to transfer pictures the old school cord way.  I don't even know where the cord is.
  •  Soccer & soccer & more soccer.  Shawn is at the end of coaching the spring season.  I absolutely love this aspect of our lives.  It does take up a lot of time, and lately has created Shawn a lot of stress, but it's worth it.  Shawn is such a great coach, and the boys seriously adore him.  They look up to him and all have so much respect for him. I am so proud of him for the positive impact that he's making in these boys' lives.  He has recently decided to change clubs...which has created some stress/drama.  It will be for the best regardless of what happens.  He has put up with a lot and its finally time to change things up.   I have such a hard time imagining Shawn coaching a different group of boys. Hopefully most of the boys will choose to follow him.  He has coached these boys for the last 3 or so years. I love them all, and especially their moms (:
  • I know that there are some of our friends and family who think that we couldn't possibly be busy because we don't have kids.  This pisses me off so bad. "You mean you can't make it to dinner last minute?  You mean you can't come participate in whats going on in our lives because you are coaching or are studying?  Can't you just do that later? ...I mean how can you be so busy...you don't even have kids yet?!?"
LISTEN.  Shawn works a full time job plus a part-time job (coaching).  Yes, coaching is a job!  Yes he does love it, but he does get paid to do it...so that makes it a job.  And with that job comes practice 2 nights a week and games 2 nights a week.  And as for me...my life isn't quite as busy...however I am in school full-time.  And no, I don't have a summer break...I go straight for 20 more months. My life consists of 20 hours  of lecture a week + a few clinical hours now + studying time/homework at nights + my 8 hours a week that I work at the office + I clean a few of our apartments hallways/entryways to contribute a little something...$ off our rent + activity days (I know its only twice a month) + I go to all of the games that Shawn coaches.  Oh...and those things that you have to do...like clean the house, do laundry, and the dishes?  I have to do those too

Yes I know that our lives will be busier when we have kids.  We will have all of our own activities plus theirs, but it doesn't mean that our lives aren't already busy. We try our very hardest to split time between families and we are always at the important things. Family always comes first.   Anything extra right now is just so hard.  Know that we do love you all, and I love hearing all about your activities via blog-world. We are doing our best to juggle everything.

Anyway...I do love blogging, and I have missed it.  I hope to be back at it soon! For now...we are just busy with our "not so busy" lives!

Off to an interesting start!

So...we had pretty crazy day today. We planned this trip months ago...and the timing was supposed to be good for both of us. Shawn just finished up with the Spring season. And I hadn't planned on getting into Hygiene school so I really didn't have anything going on except for trying to plan a trip during the week that my doctor is out of the office for surgeries. So much for planning well in advance. Shawn is missing tryouts. Which usually aren't until June. I'm missing the first week of school...and the first block includes Anatomy & Physiology, and some College Success class. I'm FREAKING out. I'm missing 10 lecture ours of just anatomy & physiology alone. Shawn is missing tryouts which is a huge part of his job. AND when I get home I'm going to be going part time. Which is a huge stress in itself (for obvious $ reasons and figuring out how we are going to survive at work).
.
Mmk so I'm done complaining. We are going to try our best to relax and not worry about any stress that will be waiting for us when we get home. But let me just tell you about today. We left bright and early 5:40 am to leave for the airport. We drove Shawn's car to Rick & Stacey's and Rick drove us to the airport. He is the only person we know that is up that early on a saturday morning. We got checked in and everything just fine. Boarded the plane...our seats were not together. What the hell? I told myself out-loud that it was not the end of the world. We had a connecting flight in Houston so the trip was only like 3 hours long. I tried hard to study while we were separated.

We got to Houston and I called on our hotel reservation that we made thru Priceline. My Mom helped me make it and we thought we got one near the airport/port. Nope! It was going to cost 40$ with a taxi ride to our hotel and then another 40$ tomorrow to go get on our ship. We freaked out. We did not want to spend that much on just transportation. We want to be able to do fun things on the cruise!!! So after not being able to cancel our hotel reservations we decided to try to rent a car. But that didn't work (long story). And then this nice lady helped us figure out the right bus route. So we waited for about 40 min for a shuttle bus that took us to the train. We missed the train and had to wait 2 1/2 hours for the next train!!! So we did. It is nice and warm here. Really really humid though! We met some fun brazilians at the train station. I should have taken a picture with them. So we chatted with them a bit and then boarded our train 2 1/2 hours later.
.
We called to get a taxi from our train stop to our Hotel. It was only 2 miles so we decided we could afford the fair for that. But wait...since today was the day from hell the taxi of course didn't show up. I put on my socks and running shoes and we walked 2 miles or so to our dang hotel. BLAH. Shawn carried his back pack the whole way that had our laptop, and all of my school books. It was so heavy. Oh and our bags barely made the 50lb check in cut off. But let me just tell all of my family and close friends who know me well...that I was a trooper. I know...hard to believe. Just ask Shawn! I complained just like 1...maybe 2 times. I promise! I kept telling Shawn that it was an adventure. And that it would be funny to talk about some time.

.

vIcToRy!!!
.

That was a really long post...that could have been really short.
We are exhausted and are going to bed. We will be going "dark" for 8 days. No cell phones, no computers. Can't Wait!!!

Duh...

I wouldn't think you would need to put up one of these...

in a freaking dental office.
.
I'm at work (I work in a dental office). And a gramma just brought in her grandkids ... along with her family dog!?!?
.
What the crap?
.
Worst part is...I told her last time that he couldn't stay in here. Do I really have to tell her aGaIn?
.
And NO, he is not a special seeing eye dog or anything like that.
.
Pretty much common sense right?
.
Dental Office=No Dogs

Are You Kidding Me?

Need I say more?
Yes...I always do.
The last two weeks I have enjoyed...
Tucking my boots in the back corner of my closet.
Laughing at the crazy people wearing flip flops.
Not shivering uncontrollably on my way to work.
Wearing sunglasses because it's warm & sunny.
Birds chirping in the morning.
Cracking the window.
Fantasizing over Nordstrom's spring line.
Worrying about shedding the pounds for swimsuit season.
The list goes on and on.
Please go away snow!

no good very bad week

Shawn has had a horrible week. Which means I have had a not so great week as well! We have had Shawn's acura TL for 2 yrs now. In that short time we have thrown so much money it to it. It has been so depressing. He never should have bought that stupid car. Acura's are so expensive to fix. We found out on monday that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced AGAIN! This would be the 3rd time that we would have fixed it.

Soooooo Shawn decided to look for a new car. We looked at a couple on Monday and then Shawn did a whole bunch of research. Wednesday night Shawn went to the Honda dealership to check out a car there and guess what? His car died. Yep died. It's dead. He was on his way to indoor for his boys and so he had to walk the rest of the way.
His dad picked up him after the games and took him to go try to fix his car. They couldn't get it started. I felt so bad. I surprised him with this MLS ball when he got home. To you or me it might just look like your average soccer ball. It's not. It's kind of a big deal. So he was super excited. . . . . for about 72 seconds.

To say the least I found out this week that buying a new car when you still owe money on your old car can cause lots of little arguments. haha. To make a long story short he ended up with this sweet Chevy Equinox. It's pretty nice. He needed a bigger car to haul all of his soccer stuff around. He loves it. He is happy and everything is back to normal at our house.
