Bieber Fever...

I told you we were going to go see it!

Funny story...Chris was taking my friend Lindsey out and we wanted to double. After Shawn's bright idea Lindsey and I thought it would be fun to go to the Justin Bieber movie for our date. So I text Chris and told him I was planning the date and to not worry about it. He was freaking out all week about it because we wouldn't tell him what it was...for obvious reasons. All I told him was that it was going to be motivational/inspirational. He asked if he would need to wear sunday clothes...haha. Anyway, after dinner we walked in to the theater and it clicked "you are kidding me...we are seeing the Justin Bieber movie?". Shawn thought it was priceless.

One issue...because it was opening night there were tons of teenage girls in our theater screaming and crying every two seconds. It got really ridiculous really fast. At the end of the movie where he is in concert all of the hardcore fans rushed down to the bottom of the theater and started dancing in front of the screen. Classic... I tried to get a picture of it but it turned out too dark.

We all liked the movie...we plan to go back to see it again...without all of the teenage crazies.

Movie Stubs In My Purse Part 2

Back by popular demand...
Most of these movies are from 2010, but a few are from this month. Remember 5*'s are the highest rank.
In no particular order...
  • The Back Up Plan: This one some how missed my last post. It was kind of a random movie, but I'm a sucker for J-Lo and her chick flicks. ***
  • Little Fockers: I don't know why I watch these movies. They are so awkward! Anything that can go wrong, goes wrong...and I just can't even stand the anxiety. There were some funny parts, but overall it was exactly what you would expect. **
  • Due Date: We love Zac Galifianakis. We didn't go into this movie with any high expectations...because what could be better than the hangover? We laughed during most of the movie. It was dumb, but we loved it. ****
  • Despicable Me: I already did a review on this one. But I had to mention it again. I freaking LOVE this movie! I took Kallie to see it once, the nephews once, and then Shawn and I saw it again too. "It's so fluffy I'm going to die!!!" *****
  • The American: Ew, ew, ew! We walked out halfway through. We hated it. I have no idea where the movie was going...will someone please tell me? Dear George Clooney, what the hell were you thinking? We all know you are hot, but you are old now. Please wear clothes next time. *
  • Wall Street: Shawn loved this movie, I liked it. Shia Labeouf is pretty awesome, we will definitely buy this movie. ****
  • Unstoppable: Have I mentioned my love for Denzel? I think I have. We had high expectations and he didn't disappoint. It was pretty intense! ****
  • Red: This movie was freaking awesome! We were totally surprised, not at all what we expected. John Malkovich was my favorite. I can't wait to watch this movie with Curtis. *****
  • Life As We Know It: Totally cheesy and awesome. Why is Josh Duhamel with Fergie? I hate her. ***
  • How Do You Know: It was okay...I might like it more if I watched it again. Paul Rudd was pretty funny. **1/2
  • True Grit: Pretty sure I couldn't understand these guys the whole movie. It was the most random movie I've ever seen. Probably wont sit through it again, but it was alright? **
  • Easy A: I went with my mom & Ash. We didn't know what this movie was going to be like at all. We loved it. Seriously it's a must see. Pretty much one of my fav's. *****
  • Country Strong: I'm embarrassed to say that I loved this movie. I mean I hate country music...yet as soon as I got home I jumped on iTunes and bought the soundtrack. I love Gwyneth Paltrow. ****
  • The Dilemma: I love Vince Vaughn and I love Kevin James, but you can tell from the previews that you will hate this movie. Everything that can go wrong does. Shawn & Paul almost had to walk out from the awkwardness. *
  • The Next Three Days: The movie kind of dragged, but overall it was good. Not as suspenseful as I was thinking it might be. ***
  • Fighter: Christian Bale was amazing. I really think he became a coc-addict for this movie. Movie was great. ****1/2
  • Love and Other Drugs: Probably the most uncomfortable movie I've ever watched with my parents! So glad Shawn couldn't come... Um it had a really good storyline. I just won't be able to ever look at Anne Hathaway the same. **
  • Tangled: I saw it once with Shawn, and then took Kal to see it too. We all loved this movie! It was just like the old Disney Classics (the singing & humor). *****
  • Hereafter: Totally disappointed. It felt like the movie took forever to go anywhere. *
  • The Tourist: Um would you like to sit and stare at Angelina Jolie's face for 2 hours? It gets old after 20 minutes. Johnny Depp saved the movie. ***
  • You Again: I had low expectations...but it wasn't bad. Ashley and I spent most of the movie laughing at how hard my mom was laughing! ***
  • Megamind: I was surprised that Brad Pitt had such a small role. Loved Will Ferrell in this one. ****
  • Green Hornet: I have been a big fan of Seth Rogen ever since my mom, yes my mom, took me to see Knocked Up. It was a little long, but we loved it. ****
mmk so I think that covers it! Here are the movies that we are excited to see in the next few months:Yes...both of us are excited to see this movie.

Movie stubs in my purse

This year I decided to keep my movie stubs every time we see a movie. I thought that it might be fun in the future to look back and see what movies we saw. Maybe my kids will think it's cool or something?

Anyway. I thought I would do a one line review for each of them. Could be a new tradition on the blog. We will see how it goes.
I have tried to keep all of the stubs, but I think I have thrown away a couple of them. Oh well...
Starting at the top left (5 *'s are possible).
  • Expendables: Old guys (who used to be famous) promoting botox. **
  • The Switch: the cute little boy totally made the movie, we were pleasantly surprised. ****
  • Inception: We saw it after hearing how amazing it was...so of course it wasn't that amazing to us. It was super hard for me to follow, but out of the box. ****
  • Other Guys: Awesome one liners...but too long, it got boring **
  • Eclipse: A lot better than the other movies, Bella is getting less awkward (or maybe I'm getting used to her awkwardness). **
  • Salt: How the hell is Angelina Jolie, or Evelyn Salt, supposed to kick the crap out of people when she is ridiculously under weight??? We loved it!!! *****
  • The A-Team: Totally surprised us...enjoyed it. ****
  • Grown Ups: Mediocre comedy...you could predict all of it...so disappointing. *
  • Toy Story 3: We didn't love it, but we didn't hate it...cute ending. **
  • Knight & Day: Cameron Diaz is looking pretty old...same with Tom Cruise...cute chick flick I guess. ***
  • Green Zone: Makes me wonder what our government is hiding from us. ****
  • Sherlock Holmes: Not my kind of movie, I like to go to movies to relax...thinking is not relaxing to me. ***
  • Killers: I love Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl (big fan since Grey's Anatomy) it was a good chick flick, but had a really weird, abrupt ending. ***
  • Prince of Persia: Why did Reese Witherspoon break up with Jake? ****
  • Iron Man 2: I hate Scarlett Johansson, everyone else was awesome. ****
  • Despicable Me: This was by far the best movie of the summer...Shawn says he has never heard me laugh through out a movie like I did with this one...SO CUTE *****
  • Robin Hood: This was one that we snuck into after seeing another movie. Can't wait to see it again. ****
  • Date Night: Shawn and I are watching this movie right now...we loved it. Steve Carell + Tina Fey = Hilarious *****
  • Valentine's Day: Lots of big actors...kind of depressing...but good. ***
  • Dinner for Schmucks: The only part that was good was the dinner...the rest was lame. **
  • The Last Song: Happy sad movie, its good once you get over Miley's constipated faces. ***
  • Cop Out: This is another one that totally surprised us...laughed thru the whole thing! ****
  • When in Rome: Kind of lame, but I love Josh Duhamel...its one that I will buy when its on sale for 5 bucks. **
  • She's out of my League: ehhh alright, really funny at times. ***
  • Edge of Darkness: Another one that makes you think about our twisted government, totally recommend it. ****
  • Extraordinary Measures: Shawn loved it...it was too long for me...but it did have a great story. ***
  • The Bounty Hunter: Not one of my fav Jenn Aniston movies. **
  • The book of Eli: I have had a big crush on Denzel for a long time...for obvious reasons...really different...we loved it. *****
We love going to movies. It's something cheap that will keep us entertained for a couple of hours.

Watching Miles & 101 Dalmations

Our friends asked us if we could watch Miles last night. Shawn had soccer, but Miles and I hung out and had fun. He is one of our favorites in nursery. He is the poor kid that Shawn scarred for life...Shawn took him to go to the bathroom and sat him on the toilet...but he ended up peeing all over his pants. Shawn felt so awful. He kept telling Miles over and over how sorry he was. It was a good lesson for Shawn (;
He is so cute!
He had some great decorating ideas!
We watched 101 Dalmations. It's one of the only Disney movies we own.
Some of the highlights of the night:

He dropped a piece of macaroni on the floor and went to throw it away...and then farted REALLY loud when he thought he was being quiet in the pantry. We both laughed really hard for a long time.

He told me that the magnets on my fridge were oval, square and circle shapes! I was so impressed. He is only 2!

He bonked me on the head. Really hard! When I told him it hurt he told me that I could play with his truck to make me happy.
He cried when he had to leave.

Eclipse & Jessica's Wedding

My good friend Jessica just got married on July 1st. I'm so excited for her. She is so happy and was the cutest bride. I'm sad that she is moving clear across the country...but she promises to keep in touch and keep us updated thru her blog. We will see about that.

Me. Jess. Brooke.

I met Jess about 4 or 5 years ago working at the depot. We quickly became friends and started taking night classes together at uvsc & slcc. When I had to move out of Brooke's house when I got married I set Jess up with my old room and then her and Brooke became friends. So it's perfect!

We met up with my other great friend Suzy at the reception in Lehi. Suz and I go way back...way back to when I was a freshman and she was a senior and her and her senior possy used to make us carry their bags and water off of the bus. We both played soccer at Lehi. So needless to say we weren't friends in high school. We got reacquainted at the Depot as well. So many fun memories.

Paul & Suzy. They are getting married in October! I can't wait. Please bless Paul and Shawn can be best friends so we can hang out all of the time!

After the reception a group of us headed to Brooke's family's restaurant...you may have heard of it. Emmetts & Ethels. I'm sure you have. It is the best ice cream place in Lehi. I didn't take any pictures but we had lots of fun.

Liz.Edward.Me.Jacob.Bella.Lindsey.

We started the night off with dinner at the Thanksgiving Point Cafe for Lindsey's birthday and then we went to see Eclipse. I'm not a big fan of the Twilight movies. I mean I like them...but I don't get super excited or anything. Eclipse was a lot better than the other 2 movies...I thought. It did make me a little excited for the next one. The books were just so much better.
