Movie Stubs In My Purse Part 2

Back by popular demand...
Most of these movies are from 2010, but a few are from this month. Remember 5*'s are the highest rank.
In no particular order...
  • The Back Up Plan: This one some how missed my last post. It was kind of a random movie, but I'm a sucker for J-Lo and her chick flicks. ***
  • Little Fockers: I don't know why I watch these movies. They are so awkward! Anything that can go wrong, goes wrong...and I just can't even stand the anxiety. There were some funny parts, but overall it was exactly what you would expect. **
  • Due Date: We love Zac Galifianakis. We didn't go into this movie with any high expectations...because what could be better than the hangover? We laughed during most of the movie. It was dumb, but we loved it. ****
  • Despicable Me: I already did a review on this one. But I had to mention it again. I freaking LOVE this movie! I took Kallie to see it once, the nephews once, and then Shawn and I saw it again too. "It's so fluffy I'm going to die!!!" *****
  • The American: Ew, ew, ew! We walked out halfway through. We hated it. I have no idea where the movie was going...will someone please tell me? Dear George Clooney, what the hell were you thinking? We all know you are hot, but you are old now. Please wear clothes next time. *
  • Wall Street: Shawn loved this movie, I liked it. Shia Labeouf is pretty awesome, we will definitely buy this movie. ****
  • Unstoppable: Have I mentioned my love for Denzel? I think I have. We had high expectations and he didn't disappoint. It was pretty intense! ****
  • Red: This movie was freaking awesome! We were totally surprised, not at all what we expected. John Malkovich was my favorite. I can't wait to watch this movie with Curtis. *****
  • Life As We Know It: Totally cheesy and awesome. Why is Josh Duhamel with Fergie? I hate her. ***
  • How Do You Know: It was okay...I might like it more if I watched it again. Paul Rudd was pretty funny. **1/2
  • True Grit: Pretty sure I couldn't understand these guys the whole movie. It was the most random movie I've ever seen. Probably wont sit through it again, but it was alright? **
  • Easy A: I went with my mom & Ash. We didn't know what this movie was going to be like at all. We loved it. Seriously it's a must see. Pretty much one of my fav's. *****
  • Country Strong: I'm embarrassed to say that I loved this movie. I mean I hate country music...yet as soon as I got home I jumped on iTunes and bought the soundtrack. I love Gwyneth Paltrow. ****
  • The Dilemma: I love Vince Vaughn and I love Kevin James, but you can tell from the previews that you will hate this movie. Everything that can go wrong does. Shawn & Paul almost had to walk out from the awkwardness. *
  • The Next Three Days: The movie kind of dragged, but overall it was good. Not as suspenseful as I was thinking it might be. ***
  • Fighter: Christian Bale was amazing. I really think he became a coc-addict for this movie. Movie was great. ****1/2
  • Love and Other Drugs: Probably the most uncomfortable movie I've ever watched with my parents! So glad Shawn couldn't come... Um it had a really good storyline. I just won't be able to ever look at Anne Hathaway the same. **
  • Tangled: I saw it once with Shawn, and then took Kal to see it too. We all loved this movie! It was just like the old Disney Classics (the singing & humor). *****
  • Hereafter: Totally disappointed. It felt like the movie took forever to go anywhere. *
  • The Tourist: Um would you like to sit and stare at Angelina Jolie's face for 2 hours? It gets old after 20 minutes. Johnny Depp saved the movie. ***
  • You Again: I had low expectations...but it wasn't bad. Ashley and I spent most of the movie laughing at how hard my mom was laughing! ***
  • Megamind: I was surprised that Brad Pitt had such a small role. Loved Will Ferrell in this one. ****
  • Green Hornet: I have been a big fan of Seth Rogen ever since my mom, yes my mom, took me to see Knocked Up. It was a little long, but we loved it. ****
mmk so I think that covers it! Here are the movies that we are excited to see in the next few months:Yes...both of us are excited to see this movie.

Nickle-Mania & Sleepover

Friday night we had Payson and Talan come over for a sleepover. I dropped the boys off at Shawn's futsal practice. They said they had lots of fun playing futsal with Shawn.

After futsal we met Chris & Kallie at Nickle-mania.

I sure love this little girl!
Kallie loves hanging out with her cousins!
Later we rented "Diary of a whimpy kid" and made the kids a big bed in front of the tv. We all stayed up way past our bedtimes and slept in the next morning. We woke up and took the boys to Payson's Junior Jazz game. We always have fun with these boys!

Talan's Birthday

Happy 5th Birthday t-RaY!

We sure are lucky to have Talan as one of our nephews! He is the cutest, most stubborn little stinker around. He can be so sweet and tender when he wants to be. He loves to be doing whatever his big brother is doing and is such a great big brother to his little sister and brother. He is so witty, but gets so embarrassed when we laugh at something he says. We love spending time with Talan and can't believe he is already 5! Shawn and I started dating when Tal was only 5 months old!.

Love you t-RaY!

Martin Luther King Day

"Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.

I've decided to stick with love. Hate is too great a burden to bear.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."

Dumpster Diving

Dear Journal,

Last Sunday, before church, the husband asked where our rent check was. He said he had left it on the table, but I didn't know where it was, and couldn't remember ever seeing it. While I hurried to Nursery, Shawn stayed home to look for it.

Now apparently there is a difference between a cashier's check & just a normal check. A big difference! A cashiers check is the same as cash...and evidently that's what we use to pay our rent.

Shawn showed up to Nursery an hour late...with no luck finding the check. The thing is I have a bad habit of throwing things away...nothing is safe when it's put on the table. So we knew what we had to do.
While I was at church Shawn had already probed around the dumpster with a broom. I didn't want this issue to become a big fight, so I offered to get in the dumpster. Can you even believe it? I didn't even make a big deal out of it.

I was wore lots of layers and every inch of my body was covered so that nothing could touch my skin. Before I climbed in we decided that the game plan was to start at one corner, work my way down and then around while handing bags out to Shawn. Worst part was the dumpster was full and it was 14 degrees outside!!! It was actually pretty easy to tell which garbage bags were ours or not.

So after going all the way, down, and around the dumpster our bag was on the very last bottom corner. We took the bag out and where was the check? In the bottom of the bag on top of the junk mail. I threw it out with the junk mail...

At least we found it right? Shawn grabbed his phone to take some embarrassing pictures, and then sent it to my entire family. No one could believe I got in the dumpster.

The end...still can't believe I did it!

New Years & Resolutions

2011
Shawn and I had a hard time deciding where to spend our New Year's Eve. We are lucky to have so many friends and family that live near by that are always doing fun things. We decided to start off the night with Kioko & Carl's Brazilian family in Draper. Kioko told us there were just going to be finger-foods, but we should have known better...we had a huge sit-down meal with sooo much yummy food.
We call Kioko our "Brazilian Mom" (ps. she is of japanese decent but is from Brazil). She takes such good care of us!

Shawn eating this yummy Brazilian style pizza.
Around 10:30 we headed to Suzy's school to play some games in the gym. It was soooo cold!!!
Suzy & Paul getting ready for some hockey!
I had so much fun playing wall-ball with Shawn. Ha, it brought back good memories from my elementary days. We had such a great night with these guys!
